Ever since the festive season kicked off during Diwali, Railway passengers have had to face the brunt of crowded coaches with their reserved seats being taken over by ticketless passengers or have had to face massive delays.
On Wednesday too, several trains across the country faced delays amounting to six hours due to fog and low visibility. One of the passengers who faced severe problems due to the delay was a man from Kanpur who had to resort to taking an intercity cab to not miss a connecting train after his first train ran late by nine hours. Despite having a confirmed Tatkal ticket, X user @vinodepurate paid Rs 4,500 for the cab ride to his destination.
"The train that I have to take at 1.15 pm at Kanpur arrived 9 hours late. I had to catch Rajdhani at Jhansi at 8.15 pm. So I came to know about (the train being) late at 2 pm. I have no other option other than taking Ola for Rs 4,500. And the Tatkal ticket was bought for Rs 1,500. Total Rs 6,000 loss," the user wrote on X.

Other frustrated passengers too took to social media to complain to the Railway Ministry about the inordinate delay and the filthy conditions they were stuck in.

@RailwaySeva @drmsdah @MangalSAngadi @IRCTCofficial Train 12368 is running exceptionally late.
