Akash Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, spoke at the IIT-Bombay Techfest on Wednesday, December 27, sharing insights on technology, innovation, and the future. Ambani, who addressed a diverse range of topics, expressed his excitement to be at the prestigious engineering college.

Ambani emphasised the significance of technology as a great equaliser in society, transcending borders and demographics. He discussed Reliance's commitment to innovation at the customer level, citing the recent launch of JioBharat, a sub-₹1,000 4G smartphone aimed at bridging the digital divide in India.

Responding to a question about maintaining a culture of innovation in the fast-evolving era of AI, Ambani highlighted the importance of focusing on formative technologies while keeping the customer in mind. He detailed Reliance's efforts to work on cutting-edge technologies such as brain computing and quantum computing, while simultaneously addressing ground-level issues to impact every Indian.

Ambani also shared his vision for the next decade, emphasising the role of digital technology in shaping India's future. He spoke about Reliance's commitment to making technologies consumer-friendly and enabling 5G Private Networks for enterprises of all sizes.

Reflecting on the partnership with IIT-Bombay, Ambani acknowledged the decade-long collaboration and expressed excitement about potential future projects, including the launch of the BharatGPT programme. He emphasised the importance of empowering youth and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship.
