A Minnesota woman is suing her dentist, claiming he performed 32 procedures in one sitting which left her distressed and disfigured, according to the New York Post.

Kathleen Wilson filed a civil suit against her dentist Dr Kevin Molldrem on Thursday, claiming that he performed too many procedures in just one visit and falsified the amount of anaesthesia he administered.

In her lawsuit, she claims that Molldrem conducted eight dental crowns, four root canals and 20 fillings in a five-and-a-half-hour span in July 2020. Wilson says she was left in pain, embarrassed, disfigured and distressed in the aftermath of the visit.

She also claims that Molldrem overused anesthesia and faked her medical records.

Wilson says she had to visit multiple other dentists to fix the issues created by Molldrem.

Her claims have been backed by Dr Avrum Goldstein, an expert Florida dentist. In his report, Goldstein acknowledged that “virtually every tooth” in Wilson’s mouth was decayed. He noted, however, that Molldrem’s treatment plan was hasty and poor.

“Katie required a slow, thoughtful, careful and measured response to her disease,” Goldstein wrote. “Trying to fill every hole in every tooth in her mouth in one visit is not only the antithesis of what was indicated, it is not humanely possible to achieve in an effective or constructive manner.”

Goldstein also backed Wilson’s claims that she was given too much anaesthesia. The maximum recommended dosage for a long appointment is 490 milligrams, but Wilson received nearly double the dosage during her July 2020 appointment with Molldrem. She was given 960 milligrams of anaesthesia.
