Movies like Jawan, Gadar 2, Tiger 3, Animal and Dunki continued the successful run of Hindi films in theatres. Despite a successful year in 2023, Hindi film industry also disappointed the fans of many well-known stars.
As we bid goodbye to 2023, let’s take a look at the movies that failed to perform at the box office:

The film is based on the real-life story of Jaswant Singh Gill, who rescued 65 miners trapped inside the Raniganj Coalfields in West Bengal in 1989. The rescue drama minted only Rs 34.17 crore at domestic BO on a 55 crore budget.
Selfiee
Movie enthusiasts were excited to watch the uncanny pair of Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi in this action comedy directed by Raj Mehta. But unfortunately, Selfiee managed to garner Rs 17.03 crore in India on a budget of approximately Rs 100 crore. Selfiee also starred Diana Penty and Nushratt Bharruccha in important roles.
Kuttey
This black comedy had all the necessary elements of satire, powerful performances, and slapstick one-liners to make the film a hit. However, Kuttey could not impress the masses and became a box-office dud. Even stellar performances from Tabu, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Arjun Kapoor could not make the film a success. Made on a budget of Rs 50 crore, it collected only Rs 5.91 crore.

The comedy-drama collected only Rs 6.87 crore in India, while it was made on a budget of approximately Rs 45 crore.
Tejas
Everyone had high hopes for Kangana Ranaut’s aerial action-thriller Tejas. But, the film failed to take off and crashed at the ticket window. However, their easy-breezy romance could not spark any interest among the audiences and failed to even touch Rs 1 crore mark at the ticket window.
Gumraah
Starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles, Gumraah centres around a murder investigation with two doppelganger suspects. Although Aditya pulled off a strong performance, the film could bring in the bucks. Gumraah’s domestic box office collection stood at only Rs 7.74 crore.
Shehzada
While Kartik Aaryan is known for his charismatic on-screen presence, his charm failed to impress the audiences in Rohit Dhawan’s Shehzada. Starring Kriti Sanon as the female lead, the action comedy failed to strike the right chord with the audiences. Made on an estimated budget of Rs 85 crore, the film garnered only Rs 32.02 crore.
